The Alton FC Story

The Alton FC Storyy

As a child, me and my brothers would climb to the top of the slide at Anstey Park and watch Alton Town play football. That was in the late 1960s and early 1970s, just before the the team's journey to the first round of the FA Cup, and club history being made.

The match against Newport County, despite a 1-5 loss to the league side, inspired many fans who still support the club to this present day. Alton Town fared equally splendidly in in the 1960s too, often playing against and beating semi-professional clubs to lift the Hampshire League.

Today's team seeks to emulate those who represented the town so well in the past, and under present manager manager Kevin Adair, are once again boxing above their weight in the Wessex League, and now the Combined Counties League. This book brings togethjer all thiose stories.
